Today to open with new countries but also to answer the reserves of some of them, the International federation of volley ball (FIVB) decided to repair its athletes.
They will be able, if they decide it to wear shorts instead of the usual bikini at the time of the Olympic Games of London (July 27 to August 12), indicated to Tuesday the International federation of volley ball (FIVB).
The FIVB repealed the obligation made to the players carry bikinis at the time of the meetings. The payment forced the women to carry a bottom of a maximum width of 7 cm. They will be able from now on to wear shorts and even of the tee-shirts in competition.
Applicable immediately
This possibility appears from now on in new rules adopted by the FIVB in order to popularize this sport in countries up to now not very fond of delicacies of beach-volleyball. The athletes had already the choice between a shirt one-piece bathing suit and a bikini and we added a possibility in order to answer religious or cultural reasons, explained the communications director of the Federation, Richard Baker.
The person in charge however denied that the female beach-volleyball wants to get rid of its image of sexy sport but which he wanted rather to allure of new countries. These new rules take effect immediately and will thus be applied to the Plays of London, it added.
